This is my third account here on DeviantART. I came here as Raph1966 since February 5, 2007. (more about that one in that respective account's journal).
My interest started in being on that account, just doing art. But then, for some reason I can't recall, I became a shutterfly. Leaving expensive camera film behind for newer technology, I sought out interesting things to photograph, particularly nature. The less human influence, the better. Being out in nature brings me joy, and calms me. We all have stress and problems (self-induced or not), I have more than my share. I just love natural beauty, and searching around this site, I found an abundance. I was (and am still) thrilled to see nature photos and arts here. When I'm down, and can't go outside, I can roam through my Faves here and it's wonderful. It's like an escape.
No matter how "corny" this sounds, that's my story. I'm hoping to stay here with the DeviantART family for years to come, trying to share my best photos and artwork.
I will not be telling my DA story as BlueSolitaire, as the story is the same. There's not much more I could add to that...except that account has more candid cat and dog photos (my pets over the years) which I love to share. If it makes just one person smile...my mission is complete.
Just a few of what I do:
This lily, there's just something about it. It's made quite a few friends here on DA.
Sassy lil' bird is a hit here, and on Shadowness, where she became a Daily Inspiration. That's quite an honor for me...up against such competition.
I just LOVE these chives. Humble vegetables yet lovely to look at (color and texture-wise).
Another sassy lil' bird. I try to capture animal images to show the goofy side of wildlife (or pets). This little guy is still around here, courting the ladies. He's a real "hot stitch".
I have a thing for lilies. I guess that's plain to see.
I like the delicacy of this flower. Sadly it couldn't come home with me. So I had to content myself with an image. Wish I knew the "cultivar".
This is probably the BEST shot I ever took with a Kodak EasyShare "Point & Shoot" digicamera. Luck had a little to do with the scene though.
I love the colors of this restful lake in Central northern Maine. I wish I could go back.
Sometimes, you don't "see" what's there until after you upload the images onto the PC. The "jellyfish" shadows are a bonus.
I am a SUCKER for Morning Glories. This was a pleasant surprise, as this cultivar of MG was not supposed to look like this. I love it even more.
Wouldn't be complete without candid pics of three of our "boys".
Left to right: Spook (formerly "Spit"), Snuggle Bug aka Bugsy, and PITA (and those letters mean what you THINK they mean
This shot begged to be taken. What a set-up. Who don't love ladybugs?
Often, perspective is everything. Getting down and dirty with your subject is all part of getting "The Shot". I'm almost more of a fungi freak than a flower freak.
Can't pick just ONE flower shot to share. I have a treasure trove of flower/nature shots in my FlowerFreak Gallery and BlueSolitaire gallery.
I like a riot of color and patterns. It's just how I am. I am totally a visual creature.
Hope you enjoyed the photos. This is a TRIFLE of what is in my galleries.
