Description
Unlike many swallowtails I've encountered since I took up photography, this one isn't shy about posing for me so I got some good, focused shots. I give Mom's camera all the credit. 
Since every butterfly has its own pattern pretty much, I figured this was an Eastern tiger female. But she also resembles a Canadian tiger. The ranges of both swallowtail species overlap. This is the best specimen of a swallowtail I've seen in a long time. The earlier one I took pics of was probably an older one, all faded. Butterfly wings don't heal or regenerate.

Excellent photo! Love butterflies and the Tiger Swallowtails are one of my favorites.
